It’s a girl!

In life there are many journeys we take in hopes that we are making the right decisions and moving along the right path. Therefore, I will start with as I stated in my intro post where I feel my journey started…19 years ago.

The moment has arrived, the time has come and I can not believe it…I am graduating college. My heart is pounding and I am felled with so much emotions as I did not think I was going to make it this far but I did, we did it! My friends and I have truly enjoyed our college life and we are walking across the stage into a world full of unknowns. Celebrating with our families and loved one and looking forward to all that is to come what a great day this is.

As the celebration continues I began to ponder what shall I do next, I think I am going to go for it. Study for the LSAT, move GA and attend law school. At-least this is my thinking however within the next few months and the celebration slows down I realize something is missing. What in the world, I can not remember the last time I had my menstrual. Oh crap, I better not be pregnant, what in the world have I done. I was mortified, how in the world could I have been so careless.

You see I was raised in a single parent home and I knew all to well the struggles my mother had to ensure my brothers and I had whatever we wanted, needed and more. If I knew anything, that was I did not want to be a single parent, no ones baby mama. Nope not me…so what do I do now.

To be honest it was not a easy decision to make however it was the right decision to make. Therefore, on 2-24-2000 my beautiful baby girl was born and I felt a love that was unfamiliar and overwhelming. It was a love like nothing I had ever known and in that moment I knew this is what I was meant to be…a mom!

WORDS OF INSPIRATION:

Being a new mom can be challenging as well as rewarding. Just remember that you “got this!” and even though you may not do things the way your mom, sister, friend, cousin (you catch my drift:)) did things. Your way is the right way because it works for you and your baby!

Behold, children are a gift of the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward.(Proverbs 127:3)
