5 Creative Ways To Have Fun For Free With Your Kids This Fall

In an ever changing world where prices are continuously going up it can be challenging to find the funds to plan activities with your kids. Plus, you are on a budget and money is tight however we can not become so consumed with making ends meat that we forget the most precious gift of all that that is quality time with our kids.

Therefore I have come up with some creative ways you can explore your town for free with your kids.

  • Read a book together – You have seen the movie but have you read the book? We all know that the book is so much better than the movie. It is more descriptive and in depth as to what really happened. Also, find your local bookstore and click on there events page and see what they have to offer.
  • Go to the park- Yes go outside and play. Whether it is riding a bike, roller skating, etc. Spend sometime outside. I remember growing up and playing outside and rushing home before the street lights came on.
  • Backyard movie night- Do you remember drive in movies back in the day. We still have some that exist today but not many. Going to the drive in was so much fun. We would have a little grill and cook some hot dogs, have lawn chairs and blankets and watch a movie. Guess what we can do the same thing in our backyard. All you need is a projector and your laptop or phone then find a movie on Amazon, Netflix, etc.. Pull out your blankets, lawn chairs and pop some popcorn and/or light the fire pit and make s’mores, your options are limitless.
  • Local Museums , Zoo’s, and Downtown areas in your town are always having free events. Pull up what is in your town and click on there events page to see what may interest you and your kids.
  • Local Stores and Restaurants- I am serious you have to take advantage of your local stores. Did you know a lot of restaurants have free give – away days. You have to look into these places especially the places you frequent regularly and see what days they are doing freebies. For example in my town this place that has amazing cakes and desserts have free cupcake squares on Monday. This is a nice weekday treat for you and your kids.
